John Keyes joined Duffy’s Napa Valley as CEO in September of 2023. Before coming onboard, John served as both the Program and Operations Director for Bayside Marin. Through his masterful coordination of regulatory compliance, facilities and maintenance, milieu support, and clinical operation, he quickly distinguished his aptitude for leadership. John’s comprehensive experience and empathetic management style made him the natural choice to lead the Duffy’s team.
As someone in long-term recovery himself, John has always been passionate about helping others seeking freedom from substance abuse. After receiving his MBA and Bachelor’s in Marketing from the University of Mississippi, John went on to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). He now blends his clinical and administrative acumen to support patients and mentor employees seeking professional growth in the addiction treatment field.
John began his career in healthcare at a state-run 48-bed Medicare facility in Tupelo, Mississippi as a Behavioral Tech. He quickly began to climb the ranks, gaining experience in virtually every area of operation from counseling to community relations and, eventually, into leadership at a 124-bed treatment center. He served as clinical lead, overseeing the team delivering all patient services, and even worked in business development, promoting the facility by hosting workshops and forming community partnerships.
Joining Acadia Healthcare gave John the opportunity to deepen his familiarity with commercial detox, residential, PHP, and IOP facilities. It also provided him with a new avenue to practice his passion: meeting clients at the critical inflection point of desiring change and providing the space and tools necessary to begin a successful life in recovery.
John is proud to become part of Duffy’s multi-talented team. He hopes to honor the program’s rich history as they continue to grow and flourish as a leader in evidence-based clinical care.
