Drug & Alcohol Intensive Outpatient Program at Duffy’s in Northern California

Located in Calistoga, California, Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults age 18 and older who are battling substance use disorders. Our IOP provides a judgment-free, safe space where guests can receive the specialized services they need as they move forward on their healing journey.

What Is an IOP?

IOPs provide a level of care that is less intensive than residential programming but more intensive than traditional outpatient therapy. In our IOP, we offer personalized support for adults who are struggling with substance use disorders, including those who have co-occurring mental health concerns. Our services include group and experiential therapies, which can help promote long-term healing. While the length of stay in our IOP can vary depending on each person’s needs and progress, people typically spend around 3040 days in the program.

What Are the Benefits of Participating in Our IOP?

If you or someone you love is seeking care for a substance use disorder, Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab can help. In our intensive outpatient program, we offer:

  • Flexible care: Guests in our IOP can participate in programming while still having the ability to maintain their regular routines. This gives them the freedom to continue working, going to school, or managing their family responsibilities while they receive care.
  • Group and experiential therapies: In our IOP, we offer both group and experiential therapies. In group therapy sessions, guests have the opportunity to share their experiences and receive support from their peers. Experiential therapies, such as art therapy, provide alternative means of self-expression and encourage personal growth.
  • Individualized care plans: Each guest in our IOP receives a care plan that is tailored to their specific needs and goals. This ensures that each person gets the most appropriate services throughout their recovery journey.
  • Ongoing structure and guidance for people who have completed a higher level of care: Our IOP is an ideal option for those who are stepping down from a higher level of care, such as a residential or partial hospitalization program. The IOP provides continued structure, which can help people maintain the progress they have made as they transition back to their daily lives.

Who Can Be Admitted to Our IOP?

We determine eligibility for our intensive outpatient program based on each person’s individual circumstances and needs. Our IOP may be a good fit for you if:

  • You are an adult age 18 or older who is struggling with a substance use disorder, or with a substance use disorder and a co-occurring mental health concern, such as anxiety or depression.
  • Your substance use is negatively impacting your ability to maintain your relationships and fulfill your responsibilities.
  • You want to receive comprehensive care for a substance use disorder but would like to maintain a greater level of independence in your day-to-day life.
  • You could benefit from a structured therapeutic environment but do not need 24/7 supervision.
  • You have completed a higher level of care, such as a residential or partial hospitalization program, and are seeking continued support to help maintain your progress.

What Do We Treat in Our California IOP?

In our intensive outpatient program, we provide clinically excellent care for adults age 18 and older who are struggling with addictions to substances such as alcohol, benzodiazepines, cannabis, sedatives, stimulants, and opioids. We also provide care for those who are battling co-occurring mental health concerns, such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, and personality disorders, but the person must have a primary diagnosis of a substance use disorder.

No matter what challenges you might be facing at the moment, it’s important to know that you don’t have to face them alone. When you are ready to seek help, the team at Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab is here to guide you as you move forward on your recovery journey.

What Services Do We Offer in Our IOP?

Guests in our IOP can receive the following therapeutic services:

  • Group therapy: Led by licensed therapists and counselors, group therapy sessions provide guests with a safe space where they can discuss concerns and receive support from peers who are on a similar journey. In the IOP, our team leads activity-based, interactive, process, and psychoeducation groups. Group therapy sessions focus on topics such as understanding the root causes of substance use disorders and learning effective coping strategies to help prevent relapse. Our group sessions take place four hours per day, four days per week.
  • Experiential therapy: Guests in our IOP can also participate in experiential therapy. Led by one of our behavioral health associates, art therapy sessions are offered on a weekly basis. Art therapy can provide an outlet for guests to express themselves creatively, reduce their stress levels, and increase their sense of overall well-being.
