Celebrate Your Recovery at “Recovery Happens”

In nine days (September 3), more than 4,000 people affected by alcohol and drug addiction will gather on the west steps of California’s State Capitol in Sacramento to celebrate their renewed life attained through recovery.

The annual event called “Recovery Happens” aptly kicks off recovery-themed September as Californians from all walks of life come together to commemorate their recovery. The day begins at 8 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast and continues into the afternoon with a “recovery walk” and AA/NA meetings in the Capitol.

Paul, an attender of last year’s event said, “Having this type of event here in front of the capitol demonstrates to people what recovery is all about. It’s one of the best things the state of CA can put on.”

Ready to Participate in “Recovery Happens”?

The California Association of Addiction Recovery Resources (CAARR) sponsors the event and is committed to providing a platform to inform Californians about the positive effects that recovery and treatment programs have on our communities.

There are precious few things more worthy of celebration than recovery! We hope you can carve out some time to attend this event and join in the fun.
